GREEN GRAM UKKARAI / PACHAPAYARU UKKARAI Ingredients Green gram/pachapayaru-1 cup Sugar - 1 cup Ghee - 2 tbsp Cardamom powder – 1 tsp Cashews - 5 Method Roast the green gram. Rinse and soak the green gram for 2 hours. Heat some ghee in kadai and roast the Cashews and keep aside. Now drain the water from green gram and grind the greengram in mixie jar. Transfer it to idly plates and cook it for 10 minutes. Cut the idlies into pieces and let them cool completely. After cooling put it into dry mixie jar and grind it in pulse mode to get like crumbles. Then heat remaining ghee in a kadai add the crumbles and roast it for a minute. Then add sugar and mix well. Sugar dissolves and cook and once again turns to crumbled texture. Now add the roasted cashew and mix well.
